Analog Desires was born out of a desire to build a more intentional life for myself. I found that all the digital tools I used, while they were intended to enhance my life, instead felt like they hindered it. From using my phone for photos and notes, spending too much time on the internet, and losing the desire to pursue one of my many hobbies, technology seemed to take its toll. But there was something that made me feel better. Analog things!
Pen and paper, iPod for music, dedicated cameras… Ok these things aren’t technically all analog, but they also aren’t prone to an algorithm telling me what to listen to and predicting my next word. I don’t edit as I write like I do when I type. Mistakes happen, and that’s the process. I’m able to express myself in ways that feel more natural than their digital counterparts. And I just feel better. It helps me, and I hope to be able to help you too.
